Q - What makes Layne Publications' Jam Camp Lessons any different than the other "jam along" CD's out there?
A - Layne Publications focuses on developing the ability of individuals with the goal of participating in a "group" jam session. Whether this is at home with the provided audio files or with friends, the lessons we provide will develop the skills needed. "Jam CD's" are no new concept however, the bulk of the products out there miss the boat in developing the overall player in a huge way. Most instructional material provides you with the TAB but never gives the student a chance to practice it with any other instruments and if they do the music goes so fast you can barely keep up. On the other hand there are jam along CD's out there that offer high quality backup's but they never suggest to you how or what to play. This leaves the student feeling that "group playing" is only something they can accomplish in their dreams. When the reality is that with the proper steps and guidance they could be playing along with others that very day! Layne Publications recognizes this huge void and seeks to provide a "one stop" area for you and your friends learning. A place where everyone is on the "same page".

Q - What do I get when I purchase one of Jordan's Jam Camp Lessons?
A - Upon purchasing a song from this area of Layne publications you will receive a TAB (sometimes more than one depending on the song and instrument), chord chart, and two mp3's recorded by Jordan himself. The first mp3 will be of an entire bluegrass band (guitar, mandolin, banjo, and bass) with a note-for-note recording of the TAB that you received, as well as solo's on the other instruments (useful for practicing rhythm). The second mp3 will be the exact same recording without the recorded solo for your instrument.

Q - What if there is a song I would like to learn but it is not listed on your website?
A - If there is a song that you want to learn but is not currently available you may request it by clicking the "request a song" link at the top of the page. By requesting a song this in no way requires your purchase. This simply lets us know that you would like to see the song available. On the other hand you may contact Jordan directly at jordan@laynepublications.com and request a custom arrangement, key, or song that is not listed that you intend to buy.

Q - What is the future for Layne Publications?
A - In the future Layne Publications will be your "one stop shop" for all your learning needs. We will provide "Jam Camp" and video lessons for an array of instruments and styles, not just bluegrass. We will also offer custom transcribing. This will allow you to have a note-for-note tab of your favorite solo, by your favorite artist, exactly the way they play it.

Jordan will be developing a "workshop" material to sell to other instructors around the world who would like to facilitate their own Jam Camp. This will give them step by step direction and the tools they need to do their own camps with Jordan's material.
We will also offer custom books, CD's, and DVD's of all our lessons. This will allow you to make your own book or DVD with just the songs you want!
In addition to all of this we will be introducing a "Jam Camp Community". This will be a free service where musicians can register and meet other musicians in their area, genre, and skill level. There will be message boards and discussion rooms where people can meet and schedule jams of their own.
